Everything you need to know about our concrete
Concrete is measured in cubic metres (m3).
Concrete quantities are calculated by multiplying length x width x depth in cubic metres (m3). To aid you in working out how much concrete you need please use our helpful concrete calculator to help ensure you get the volume you need.
Standard concrete weighs roughly 2.3t/m3.
This depends on how far you are moving the concrete and how many wheelbarrows you are utilising, typically 1m3 of concrete equates to about 20 wheelbarrow loads.
Yes, we have a separate loading point for people coming in to collect to minimise waiting time.
We accept orders over the phone or via email.
We are unable to supply less than 0.5m3 for delivery. However, our collection facilities can supply amounts as low as 0.3m3.
This depends on the quantity, mix and delivery distance. We are aware you may have more questions on costings due to the currently climate. Please feel free to contact us via phone or email and we can provide you with more information and a competitive quote.
All of our concrete products are delivered using our fleet of drum mixers which range in size from 4m3 to 8m3.
Because of the scheduling of deliveries, it is helpful to release the truck as quickly as possible. The normal time allowed is ten minutes plus five minutes for each cubic metre. Therefore, a full load of 6m3 could be at site for forty minutes before an additional charge is applied.
‘Slump’ is a value associated with concrete consistency (how wet it is). It is a measurement of how workable the concrete is and is measured in mm. All our concrete is quoted at 70mm (S2) unless requested otherwise. If you are unsure about the level of consistency you need, please contact us and we’ll be more than happy to give advice.
Any requirement for steel mesh reinforcement will be decided during the planning stage by the architect, engineer or local authority. There may be alternatives, including the use of fibre concrete but this will depend on the specific project and on local ground conditions. If steel is used it is important to notify us before placing the order as this may influence the selection of certain ingredients in the mix.
All of our products are manufactured in accordance with British Standards and we are accredited by the BSI.
